General Questions

LiFePO4 chargers are highly recommended as regular SLA chargers may not bring the battery up to proper voltage, resulting in a battery that is not fully charged. The charging Voltage shall be limited to 14.4 ~ 15.0 V (never above 15V), and the charging current shall be lower than the maximum allowed per model. The ambient temperature for charging should be 32°F ~ 113°F, otherwise battery life will be affected.

Powertex Depp Cycle batteries can be connected in series or parallel under the supervision of experienced or professional technicians. Please read before using:

  • Requires the same batch of battery packs.
  • Capacity of all batteries should be within 1-2% of each other before connecting.
  • Voltage of all batteries should be within 0.1 Volts of each other before connecting.
  • Internal resistance ≤ 30mΩ.
  • Connect no more than 4 batteries in series or parallel.
  • The current of batteries connected in series should not exceed the current of a single battery.
  • Connecting batteries in series or in parallel for long-term use will affect the cycle life of a single battery.
  • Batteries should be charged individually to prolong cycle life.

It all depends on the application. These batteries are meant for low discharge applications like Solar, Wind, Off-grid, RV / Camper, Marine and more! In short, these are not cranking batteries so they will not be able to turn a motor. If you are still unsure, please contact us here so we could advise.

We at Powertex Batteries stand behind our products! The warranties are broken down between Deep Cycle and Powersport Batteries.

  • Deep Cycle batteries under 24Ah used in accordance with the instructions are subject to a 2-year warranty, batteries above 24Ah are subject to a 3-year warranty. (Please read product manual for more information)
  • Powersport batteries used in accordance with the instructions are subject to a 2-year warranty. (Please read product manual for more information)

No! Powertex Depp Cycle batteries are meant for low discharge applications. They are designed to withstand many discharge/recharge cycles. Starting batteries on the other hand are designed to provide a large burst of power for a short time in order to crank an engine.

LiFePO4 batteries are a type of rechargeable lithium-ion battery that uses lithium iron phosphate as the cathode material.

It is not recommended to use a jump starter on a dead Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) car battery. LiFePO4 batteries have different voltage requirements and charging characteristics than lead-acid batteries, and attempting to jump-start them with a traditional jump starter could potentially damage the LiFePO4 battery or even cause a fire.

Instead, it is recommended to recharge the LiFePO4 battery using a LiFePO4-compatible charger.
