Find the right PowerTex battery

Choose your year, make, and model below.

A finder match is the starting point—not final installation approval. Before ordering, confirm the battery size, post positions, hold-down, starting power, and charging system. Also check whether your car requires AGM or EFB, uses start-stop, has a battery sensor or vent tube, or needs the new battery registered in its computer.

Before you order

Four details that make a battery fit

A battery fits when it sits securely in the tray and the car's cables connect normally. You should never need to force, stretch, or cross anything.

Looks close is not enoughH6 and H7 look similar, for example, but they are different lengths. Match the actual group size and measurements.
  1. 1
    Does the size name match?

Match the group number on your current battery to the PowerTex battery. For example, Group 48 and H6 are two names for the same size.

  2. 2
Is the case the same size?

Measure the current battery and the space around it. Compare length, width, and height—not just whether it looks close.

  3. 3
Are the posts on the same sides?

The positive and negative posts should be in the same positions so the car's cables reach easily without stretching or crossing.

  4. 4
Will the factory bracket secure it?

Your battery must not slide or lift. Check that the bottom lip, top bar, or factory bracket can hold the new battery firmly.

Stop and ask us before ordering. Some newer cars also need the replacement battery registered in the vehicle's computer.

Common questions

Fit questions, answered plainly

If the group number matches, am I done?

It is a strong starting point, but take a moment to compare the case measurements, positive-post position, cable reach, and the way the battery is held down.

Can I use a different group size if it fits in the space?

Do not choose by empty space alone. A different size can place the posts or hold-down points in the wrong location. Ask us to check before using a different group.

Will my car need battery registration?

Some newer vehicles need the replacement battery registered in the car's computer. Your owner's manual, repair shop, or dealer can confirm whether your specific car requires it.
